Breweries & Distilleries in North Wales
Anglesey and North Wales have a lot to offer when it comes to local produce – ranging from food, coffee, crafts and even alcohol. You may be surprised at the number of local breweries and distilleries that are plotted around Anglesey and North Wales, some of which include tours, tasting experiences and “make your own” recipes.
We have compiled a list of some of the breweries and distilleries around Anglesey and North Wales that invite you to taste the flavours that our beautiful country has to offer.
Condessa Welsh Liqueur
Condessa is a family run business that was established in 1969 and then uprooted to Anglesey in 1989. They have won many awards throughout the years including; Proven Fine Foods, Great Taste Awards, and the True Taste Awards for Wales. Condessa are known for their award winning fruit liqueurs and low fat cream liqueurs with unforgettable flavours such as praline welsh cream, black cherry liqueur and blueberry gin.
Aberfalls Distillery
Aberfalls is an award-winning distillery that was established in 2017, and is located in the pituresque village of Abergwyngregyn. Aberfalls is also the first whisky distillery in North Wales for over 100 years and offers a portfolio of liqueurs, whiskies and flavoured gins that are crafted using Welsh water filtered from the Snowdonia mountain range. You can take a tour around the distillery and learn about their craft (samples given.. woo!), create your own gin, or delve into a cocktail masterclass.
Anglesey Mon
Anglesey Mon Distillery is located on Anglesey and produces a collection of alcoholic beverages including whisky, vodka, rum and gin. The distillery uses water from a natural spring on their farm in Pentraeth, and botanicals from the island to produce the spirits
Llainfairpwll Distillery
Llanfairpwll Distillery is located in the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (how many times did you try to say it?) which is famous for being one of the longest place names in the world. The distillery was established in 2018 and produces premium spirits with warming flavours such as autumn blackberry gin, strawberry with black peppercorn, and raspberry with lemon verbena.
Penderyn Distillery
Penderyn are an award-winning distillery based in the Brecon Beacons – they have recently opened up a new distillery closer to home in Llandudno, just 45 minutes away. They produce single malt whiskies and spirits which include gin, vodka, cream liqueur, and rum. Penderyn’s Llandudno distillery also offers a tour of their grounds with sampling of their products included.
Tyddyn Isaf’s Local Ale and Craft Beer
We also stock our very own local ales and craft beer here at Tyddyn Isaf Camping and Caravan park. Our range consists of four ales and a craft lager which each tell the tale of a part of the history of Tyddyn Isaf.
