Our Sustainable People

Our Sustainable People

The "People" section of the Green Tourism Accreditation focuses on the social and community aspects of sustainable tourism. It assesses how we engage with and benefit local communities, promote cultural heritage, and prioritise the well-being of our employees and guests.

Tree Icon Environmental Education

We believe that environmental education is an important part of promoting sustainable tourism practices. As you stroll around Tyddyn Isaf you will see that we provide bi-lingual information to visitors about our sustainable practices and initiatives in order to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

A diverse range of wildlife thrives here at Tyddyn Isaf, including endangered species such as the red squirrel and several species of birds. It is essential for both our employees and guests to appreciate the surrounding nature, understanding the significance of coexisting harmoniously with the environment as they walk alongside several habitats.

Recycle Icon Sustainable Purchasing

At Tyddyn Isaf, we are committed to purchasing products and services that are environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. This includes sourcing products locally and from suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices.

Heart in Hand Icon Supporting Charities

We take great pride in our commitment to supporting various local charitable organizations and international causes through supplier partnerships.

Over the years, we have donated to our local heroes, RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat—a life-saving service that courageously safeguards our guests and the coastal community. We have organized fundraising events to raise money for RNLI Moelfre, with the contributions providing the crew with lifesaving equipment and training.

We also support Guide Dogs Cymru, an organization that provides transformative mobility services for individuals of all ages facing sight loss challenges. To support Guide Dogs Cymru, we encourage contributions within our dog box for every ice pack stored in our freezers.

We use AquAid, a water cooler supplier for our gym at Tyddyn Isaf. With each bottle purchased, a 30p donation is made to the Africa Trust, and for every 19-litre bottle we order, a 10p donation is made to Christian Aid.

Community Icon Supporting the Local Community

We are committed to supporting the local community and economy. We source our food and other supplies from local producers and businesses, and we work with local community groups and charities to promote sustainability and social responsibility.

Message Icon Listen to Feedback

At Tyddyn Isaf, our guests feedback holds significant value to us, and we appreciate every comment received. Our guests thoughts on sustainability guide us in our ongoing efforts to improve our sustainable practices.

We are committed to innovation and continual improvement on our sustainability journey, and to better understand our guests perspective, we send out a short questionnaire to establish an idea of the ever changing attitudes towards sustainability and collect opinions on collaborative actions.

Cutlery Icon= Food & Drink

To cater to the diverse lifestyles and preferences of our guests, our take-away menu offers a range of choices, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Additionally, we incorporate Halal meats into some of our dishes, and we prioritise sourcing our ingredients from local suppliers.

We are committed to accommodating specific requests and will make every effort to fulfill the dietary and lifestyle preferences of our guests.

We endeavor to showcase and use locally sourced produce that adheres to ethical standards. Our stock includes Welsh milk and eggs, supporting local farmers, as well as Jones Crisps made from locally harvested Welsh Potatoes.

At Tyddyn Isaf, we offer selection of local alcoholic beverages, such as Snowdon Craft, which utilizes water from Snowdonia Mountain in the crafting of their beer and ale. Our selection also includes carbon-neutral certified wines.
