The impact of COVID

Like many other businesses, Covid-19 gave us the opportunity to take a long, hard look at some of our figures and the reality is that we can no longer justify the continuation of using the existing Hen Ysgubor main building in the way that it was used prior to 2020.

We know that what we are about to say will come as a disappointment for those of you who dined with us frequently during your holidays, however, the sad reality is that over the past few years the bar and restaurant facility in its current form was significantly underused by our guests, and as such this aspect of the business was barely breaking even.  All too often we found ourselves with just a handful of people, sometimes just one or two, to serve at the bar which simply isn’t sustainable.

As a result of the recent Covid-19 pandemic and our associated risk assessment, we would be unable to open safely and viably with any social distancing regulations.

We have been forced to conclude that opening the restaurant and bar of an evening will not be possible in its present form, particularly with the uncertainly that lies ahead in the coming season.

The bar and restaurant will therefore not be open during the 2021 season.

What we did find in 2020 however, was that the take-away was a phenomenal success and feedback indicated that this is the way forward.

We will be offering a full Take-Away service during 2021 and the shop will also continue to open as normal.

Looking to the future, although the Hen Ysgubor building has served us well over the past 45 years we recognise that it is very dated and not in keeping with the rest of the park.  Fundamentally, we would need to fully refurbish and renovate the entire building in order to offer the standard and type of service that we feel the park requires.

With this in mind, WATCH THIS SPACE!

We have exciting plans for the future and propose to offer a much-improved facility for 2022!
